Lessons About How To Stay Safe Online!

Hi bloggers in Te Ngahere we have been learning about how to tell if an email or websites are scams or if people are phishing you. I learnt that if someone asks you for your password on a site then it’s probably a scam because you can just use your email address to sign in. I also learnt that if a pop up pops up then you should just ignore it because it’s probably a scam because if you download it your chromebook/computer could get a virus! From downloading that file and only our teachers can control our updates. Remember if you ever see the padlock on a site and it has red line through it it’s not a safe site to be on. How to keep safe online is easy: Keep cybersmart and don’t ever sign up with websites with a line through the lock with your password. Have your parents ever told you to about phishing and scams?

My Most Amazing Creativity To Share!

Kia ora Bloggers last night I was very bored so I decided to make my family some dinner. I made the chicken nuggets and spring rolls. I put them in the oven for 20 minutes. The first time we put them in for 10 minutes but they didn’t defrost. I put them back in the oven for another 10 minutes, after I put them in the oven for another 10 minutes they were cooked. I let them cool down, then I told my little brother that I made his favourite chicken nuggets! He came inside and had the chicken nuggets. He didn’t want any spring rolls though. Have you ever made your family dinner?

The Amazing Time In Taupo Bay

Kia ora Bloggers on the school holidays I did very fun stuff one of those fun times was  going to Taupo Bay. It was very fun, because my mum and dad have some friends that own a holiday home in Taupo Bay and they offered for us to stay there. We stayed there for 4 wonderful days I really enjoyed it there. When we were there the waves were so calm. Unfortunately I didn't go for a swim because it was so cold it felt like I was in the south island! My little brother Cooper kept on bugging me about going to the playground. So I decided to go to the playground with him. At the end of our holiday it was so cold that there was a storm. It even started to flood so bad that when we were driving past fields it didn’t look like a field it looked like a river.

Have you ever been to Taupo Bay?

This Awesome Piece Of Art!

Kia ora bloggers, these past few weeks Te Ngahere has been learning about mosaic art, If you don’t know what mosaic art is you basically use shapes to make a animal or a anime character etc. Breeze and Gail were explaining to us how to do it. After we had done the first mosaic we started a new one. The new one was a Ngahere mosaic for our David Attenborough presentation. In my group I did it with did a gold striped gecko the gecko was very hard to make. Especially with the geckos legs and arms. My favorite thing of doing this was that after we finish it who ever uses our QR codes can see our presentation. The most hardest thing to do was put the little shapes everywhere. Have you  done mosaic art before ?

Sharing My Learning On How To Make A Ramp!

This week Te Ngahere has been doing a very fun experiment, that experiment  was a marble challenge. We were learning to make a ramp and drop the marble down the ramp and make sure it travels 110 cm. We did this to learn more about the scientific method. I enjoyed doing this because we got to make a ramp with our own ideas. I had gotten into a group with Alana and Mikaira, our ramp was very hard to make because we had used glue and that didn’t work so then we had to tape the ramp with the toilet rolls we were using. When we were testing the ramps we had tested Mahana, Ebony and Isabella’s ramp. The people who tested our ramp was Poet, Marley and Anika. When I do this next week we should make our instructions more clear for the people to read. Have you  done this challenge before?

This Very Interesting Activity

Hi in Te Ngahere we have been learning about the scientific method. We have been learning about this because next term in week 2 we are having a science fair. We also went to the science roadshow. The first step of the scientific method is to ask a question. When we were saying or writing the steps down we have to say it in our own words. Because copy and pasting isn’t learning it is stealing other people's work.  What I did well was I followed the success criteria to how to do it. Next time I do this I want to improve the Google drawing and be more creative when I do this. Do you know the steps of the scientific method?

Our Smart Relationships

Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have been learning about how to be Smart in our online relationships and to seek help when we need it. We have been learning about this because we should always be safe online. The first thing we did was we watched a video so we can learn how to be safe and smart online. The video was about a little girl and her name is Becky, she started to talk to a man who was like in his 40s or 30s and he lied to her about his age and saying that he was 13 and she believed him. Next time when I go on social media I will not tell my personal information and wont tell people my age. I also wont post anything that only my family and I should see. Here is a fact: If you talk to people online that you don’t know then you are talking to strangers. That is why you should never believe anyone that you don’t know because it could be anyone.

Have your parents ever told you to not talk to strangers?
