End Of Year Trip!

 In Te Maunga last week we went on a class trip to The Parrot Place, Movies and Playground and we ate pizza there. My favorite bit was that we got to hold the parrots. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

What I learnt from Measurement!!!

 In Te Maunga we have been learning about measurement. I learnt how to measure things. I did one activity that's called Mighty Metres. I had to measure my height and my height is 1.35m. My group and I had to use a ruler. My favorite activity is Mighty Metres.

Science Fun!!

 In Te Maunga this week we had a visit from the Northland Science Roadshow. We did 3 activities. I learnt that a rocket has a special kind of gas. There could be chemicals in the water that could make you sick. I learnt on a Cd if you put it in a dark box if you look inside of it there will be a rainbow. We also got some cool glasses that make us see rainbows.

Fun Cricket Time!

 In Te Maunga we have been learning about cricket. I learnt how to use the ball probably and how to use the bat. At the end we played non-stop cricket. There are two different teams one of them is a fielder and batter team.

Cross Country!

 On September 25th we did cross country at Bledisloe. I was so tired because we had to run up a hill that was very high. Some of  my friends were sprinting at first and I was jogging. Alana and I were going in front of each other. I tried to go in front of my friend Tiiria but she was very, very fast. I came 5th I think. After I finished I got a juicy. Then my little brother wanted a juicy. Then after cross country I went on the bus with my friend Ruby.

Poetry Fun

 This term in Te Maunga we did poetry. I learnt about alliteration, similes, metaphors and  adverbs. I wrote 5 poems. One of the poems was about a cat. I used similes and alliteration. Metaphors are when you are comparing 1 thing to another.

Geometry Activity

 In Te Maunga we have been learning about geometry. I learnt about vertices, faces, edges and vertices. We had to do it using shapes. I learnt about 3d shapes and 2d shapes. We had to do a poster. We had to do what colored eyes that it had and what it looked like.

Treasure hunt

 In Te Maunga we did a Treasure Hunt. It was fun. I won an eskimo pie which was good. We could have won headphones, Eskimo pies, a bouncy ball, a brand new hand ball and chicken and chips. We were raising money for the I am Hope charity.

Soundscape-Amber

Kia ora! In Te Maunga we have been learning about how to do soundscape. I learnt how to make different types of sounds. I learnt that we could use rice as snow. You just have to step on it. Dakota, Ashlyn, Tiiria and I did it together.



Cyber saftey

Kia ora!! In Te Maunga we have been learning about how to stay safe online. I learnt that you shouldn’t be going on Tiktok, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook because if you are younger than 13 and you are on those apps you are breaking the law.

Kia Ora! In Te Maunga I learnt about dinosaurs. Samuel and I did a DinoRama.  I learnt about how dinosaurs died out. I learnt that they died out from a huge asteroid because it caused storms and volcanoes erupting.

Kia-Ora!!! My name is Amber. This term we have been learning about germs during lockdown. Aaron made a hygiene DLO . We had to make one too.  My one was cool. I did 48 slides. It was so fun and cool to make the hygiene DLO.

Kia Ora! My name is Amber. This year we have been learning about Te Reo Maori. I learnt saying Haere ra which means goodbye. My whanau is from New Zealand in the North Island.

I learnt that when you do collage you have to cut out the colours in magazines and when you have done that you need to glue it on the piece of paper. We did it because we had no internet. Last week in Te-Maunga. We wrote about the water cycle and how we get our water. I learnt the 1-4 steps of how people get water. We also did a drawing about the water cycle and we also learnt how to do dark and light highlights. We used up space and pressed lightly with a pencil.

Koru Patterns

We did koru patterns and kowhaiwhai  in Te-Maunga at Paihia School. My art is about my  family like my mum, dad, little brother, and everybody else in my family. I did Air New-Zealand koru because my nana used  to live in Australia. Then I draw my family as koru. It was fun drawing them. Guess what we all got to show our koru in our assembly.
